Under current Army directives, soldiers serving in 21 primary combat Military Occupational Specialties (MOSs) are evaluated on a sex-neutral standard requiring a cumulative 350-point score to pass.
The 350 Combat Standard Mandate
Mandatory compliance timeline: Active Duty/AGR (Jan 1, 2026) & USAR/ARNG (June 1, 2026)
Cumulative score across all 5 events must meet or exceed 350 points.
Failure in any single event (scoring < 60) results in an immediate test NO-GO.
All combat MOS soldiers are graded on the standardized male baseline scale.

Infantry Officer

Combat Engineer (Sapper)
Specializes in explosive breaching, clearing minefields, erecting physical wire obstacles, and facilitating mechanized troop mobility under hostile fire.
Field Artillery Officer
Leads artillery batteries and coordinates lethal precision fires, rocket artillery (HIMARS/MLRS), and cannon systems in joint fire operations.
Joint Fire Support Specialist (FIST / Forward Observer)
Operates on the front lines embedded with infantry/armor platoons to locate, target, and call in direct tactical artillery, mortar, and close air support strikes.
Special Forces Officer
Commands a 12-man Special Forces Operational Detachment-Alpha (ODA / Green Berets) executing unconventional warfare, foreign internal defense, and direct action.
Special Forces Warrant Officer
Serves as the assistant commander and technical/tactical authority on all Special Forces unconventional warfare tactics and high-risk operational planning.
Special Forces Weapons Sergeant
The weapons specialist of the ODA, maintaining absolute mastery of all U.S., Allied, and foreign small arms, crew-served weapons, and anti-armor munitions.
Special Forces Engineer Sergeant
Specializes in target analysis, demolitions, precision explosive breaching, unexploded ordnance neutralization, and expedient combat construction.
Special Forces Medical Sergeant
The premier tactical trauma care expert in the military, trained in emergency surgical interventions, prolonged casualty care, and public health in denied environments.
Special Forces Communications Sergeant
Manages advanced secure satellite, HF, and digital communications suites, establishing vital command links in remote and austere theaters.
Special Forces Operations & Intelligence Sergeant
